Matewan Public Library
Located in the town of Matewan, rich in history, from the Hatfield McCoy feud to the bloody mine wars which sparked a labor revolution and inspired a film. Just a ways past the old lock up, the library operates on a seasonal schedule. During the fall/winter months, beginning on Labor Day, the doors open at 10:00 a.m. on Mondays and close at 6:00 p.m. Tuesday through Friday, we operate from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. After Memorial Day in May, we start our spring/summer hours, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. We have a wonderful collection of books on local history, lore, and many texts on West Virginia - including ghost stores. Not only do we check out books, we also have DVDs, CDs, eBooks, eAudio books and free music downloads available for your educational, social and recreational needs. |
